Dr. Padma Mandalapu is the founder of Tender Care Pediatrics  and has been serving the South Jersey community since 1997. She is Board Certified in pediatrics.

Dr. Mandalapu completed her residency in Pediatrics at State University of New York at Stony Brook, NY. Prior to joining residency, she earned her MS degree in Pediatrics at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Her research work on breast milk won her several awards and has been patented.

I am Dr. Padma Mandalapu, my last name is not as tough as it spells but most of my little patients call me “Dr. Padma”. Since the very first time I was asked about my future aspirations, I held a steadfast dream of becoming a physician. Over the years, this aspiration evolved into a profound passion for Pediatrics, fueled by my deep affection for children and the immeasurable joy they bring.

My education has taken me to both sides of the world. I began my journey at KMC Medial College, India. After Medical school, I decided to pursue a post-graduate education in Pediatrics which lead me to Edmonton, Canada. I received a Master’s degree in Pediatrics from University of Alberta where I had a great opportunity to research on the benefits of breast milk. My research work on Novel Immunosuppresant Factor in Colostrum has been patented, published, and won several awards. This experience made me a strong proponent of breast feeding.

Stony Brook, NY, was my next destination, where I completed an Internship and Residency in Pediatrics at the Children’s Medical Center, Stony Brook University, NY. I had the privilege of being awarded with the best resident for Citizenship and Collegiality. Following my residency training in 1997, I decided to take up a job in Somers Point, NJ. After three years, I decided to start my own practice in order to pursue my personal vision of pediatric care. Tender Care Pediatrics was established in 2000 in Galloway Twp. Over the years, we grew from a one doctor practice to a five-doctor practice. I am board certified in Pediatrics and have been an active member of the American Academy of Pediatrics and it’s NJ Chapter since 1997. I have been recognized as NJ’s Favorite Kids’ doctor, Castle Connolly Top Doctors, and Philadelphia Magazine’s Top Doctors.

It is a delight to watch your children grow and to help and guide parents through each stage of development. It is deeply rewarding to walk with families as they mature and even more fulfilling to take care of my patients’ children!

About my family, my loving husband is an engineer who works at FAA Technical Center and we are blessed with a son and daughter. When I am not in the office, I love spending time with my family and friends, exploring the world, and cooking.
